IMPORTANT UPDATE TO TENANT-COMPLETED INSPECTIONS (Feb 2020)
The default Tenant Move In and Tenant Annual Inspection templates have been updated.
Tenants are now required to take a general photo of every Area (room, yard, or system) even if every detail within the Area is marked as Satisfactory. Tenants will see a red camera icon next to every Area name: they need to tap on the red icon and take a photo of the corresponding area. That camera icon will turn black, indicating the requirement has been met. (See Bedroom in the example below)
Tenants are still required to take a photo of any detail marked as Damaged (D) in the default Tenant Move In and for any detail marked as Damaged or requiring action (!) in the default Tenant Annual Inspection templates: this has not changed. (See Door/Knob/Lock in the example below).
If you previously customized these templates, the update was not applied to them automatically. To apply this requirement to your version of the Tenant Move In or Tenant Annual Inspection—or to any template containing a condition table—you can add the “areaforce” code to the template manually.
If you are currently using the default (never customized) template and do not wish to require tenants to take a photo of each area, you can also customize the template now to remove this updated requirement. To do so, you will simply remove the System Document field and the “areaforce” code from the template manually.
Within the relevant template, look for the Inspection Table code. It will appear slightly different, depending on the template you are modifying. Focus on the “areaforce” term (or the place where it is absent—between the last word and the closing brackets).
Prior to update (no Area photos required):
Z:[[Inspection Table | Move-In Condition | [;S=Satisfactory;D=Existing Damage;all;both;both ]]
Updated (with Area photos required):
Z:[[Inspection Table | Move-In Condition | [;S=Satisfactory;D=Existing Damage;all;both;both;areaforce ]]
Modify the template as needed.
If you are having trouble saving, be sure to delete the System Document field from the template then try again.
Notes:
- If you see ;optional-areaforce ]] in the template you are customizing, this means that selecting a condition for each detail in this template is not required). You can remove “optional-“ here to require a condition to be selected for each detail.
- If you are having trouble saving, be sure to delete the System Document field from the template then try again.
