zInspector is proud to announce its development partnership with Rentec Direct, a very powerful property management account software solution. As explained in the video below, all your properties can automatically sync from Rentec Direct to zInspector. The sync can be set up in a few minutes, after which all Rentec Direct properties/units will be available for inspection on the zInspector mobile app.

Rentec Direct/zInspector Synchronization – Helpful Tips:

Default Areas for Single Family / Multi-Unit Properties. 

Before synchronizing, we recommend that you review the default Areas for your Single Family and Multi-Unit Properties.  The synchronization process will automatically add the number of Bedrooms and Bathrooms listed under the marketing section for each property / unit from Rentec Direct, but the additional default inspection Areas are configured here.

We recommend that you use the fewest default Areas necessary. You can always add additional Areas to any particular property / unit from either the zInspector website or mobile app.

Bedrooms / Bathrooms

If you increase the number of Bedrooms / Bathrooms in Rentec Direct at any time , those will be updated in zInspector.  Note: partial bathrooms round up in zInspector; for example, 2.5 bathrooms in Rentec Direct converts to 3 bathroom Areas for inspection purposes.

One-Way Property Synchronization

All properties created in Rentec Direct will be automatically sync over to zInspector. Properties created in zInspector, however, will not be added to RentecDirect. This allows you to do inspections for purposes other than those related to your property management accounting. However, if you create a Property / Unit in Rentec Direct with a name that already exists in zInspector, the corresponding units will be matched up / synchronized.

Under the Properties page, in the Accounting Integration column labeled “Acct?”, if the column value says “Yes,” the property is synchronized with Rentec Direct.

Auto-Archiving

If you Archive a property in Rentec Direct, it will be automatically archived in zInspector. You can return an archived property in zInspector: go to the Admin’s Property Page , select, the Archived properties tab, then select and Restore properties there as needed.

Performing the Rentec Direct Integration

First, access the Accounting Integration page, click on Settings and from the drop-down select Accounting Integration.

Click on the dropdown at top (if you have not set up an integration previously, it will say “None”) and select “Rentec Direct.”  In the Add/Change Link location box, paste the API access key you copied from Rentec Direct.
