Along with the Quick Pictures and Inspect modes for property inspection, the zInspector 3 app provides other useful tools for use in the field, conveniently accessible from the main screen.
(1) Edit Areas
With a property specified (e.g., “Guest Cabin” in the image above), tap Edit Areas to add, remove, and reorder areas and add or edit Area Descriptions. Alternately, tap the Edit Areas link in the header of a standard condition-table inspection (below) to edit property areas during an inspection.
(2) Directions
With a property specified, tap Directions to open the Apple Maps app (on iOS devices), or a selected map app such as Google Maps or Waze (on Android devices), and see directions to the currently selected property, if available.
(3) Tasks
With a property specified, tap Tasks to create a new task for the specified property on the New Task screen that opens -OR- tap the back arrow on the New Task at upper left to see a list of available tasks for this property. With no property specified, tap Tasks to see a list of all available tasks. (Note: Task availability here depends on whether “Show only tasks assigned to me” is enabled in the app’s Settings menu).
(4) Timeline/History
With a property specified, tap Timeline/History to view all submitted and uploaded inspection activities for the specified property. With no property specified, tap Timeline/History to view all submitted and uploaded inspection activities available to you on the account. On the Timeline, tap on an activity to see any associated photos. Tap on View to open a report preview; for condition-bales inspections, this is an editable report preview (although many users find it easier to make edits on the website Timeline—with a larger screen, etc.). Tap Email to send the current report to specified recipients.
(5) Gallery
Tap on the Gallery icon to see all photos and videos recently taken in the app. While stored on the device, photos can be edited, marked up, and permanently deleted. Once uploaded to the zInspector website, media is stored on the device for the number of days specified in the apps Settings menu (see “Days to keep photos on device”). See this article for more info on viewing and editing inspection media in the Gallery.
(6) Contacts
With a property specified, tap the Contacts icon to see a list of contacts on your zInspector account associated with the current property as well as access available phone and email addresses for them. With no property specified, tap the Contacts icon to see all contacts associated with your zInspector account. With a few taps you can reach out by email, phone, or text message to any zInspector contact.
