zInspector offers integration with Rent Manager! Easily sync your Rent Manager properties, tenants, and owners with your zInspector account. Additionally, zInspector can automatically create Rent Manager service tickets (issues) based on your inspection results and tasks created in zInspector.
The link to a video covering zInspector/Rent Manager integration is provided at the bottom of the page.
Rent Manager – Request Activation
Step 1) Log in to Rent Manager. Go to Settings, click on the Admin tab and select Available Integrations.
Step 2) Search for “zInspector” and click on Request Access. We will be notified of your request and will activate your account within a few hours. The video below provides a visual example of these instructions.
NOTE: This feature is only available for paid zInspector account holders.
IMPORTANT TIP: If you do not see Available Integrations on your Rent Manager account, and you are a paid member in good standing (with a valid payment method on file), you likley do not have sufficient permissions in Rent Manager to set up an integration. If this is the case, please contact your RM administrator.
Synchronize Data Between zInspector and Rent Manager
After you have Requested Activation and zInspector has approved, you may take the following steps to integrate your Rent Manager and zInspector accounts. zInspector support staff are happy to help: please email us (support@zinspector.com).
Step 1) On the zInspector website, click on Settings then select Accounting Integration.
Step 2) Select Rent Manager from the drop-down menu. In the Link row, click the Add / Change button.
Step 3) Enter your company name, then click OK.
Step 4) Double-check the information under Map, where you can change what property types are imported and follow the link to edit default Areas for your properties. Many users are content with the default settings that zInspector uses, but it’s better to check them all before enabling the integration.
Step 5) Under Options:
In the Properties tab:
Required: Make sure that Sync properties from Rent Manager is enabled.
Optional: Select different naming options for both Single Family and Multi-Unit properties as you want them displayed in the Property tab. (Caution: Once the Integration is enabled, please be wary of changing this format: if done incorrectly, it could lead to duplicate properties.)
In the Tenants and Owners tabs:
Optional: Enable Sync tenants from Rent Manager and Sync owners from Rent Manager as needed. (Note: Ideally, you should sync properties first and, once confirmed, return and enable the sync for tenants and owners; otherwise, the initial sync might take much longer to complete.)
In the Reports tab:
Recommended: Enable Add zInspector Reports to Rent Manager Unit History. Your reports will automatically upload to Rent Manager. (A green checkmark will appear in the upper-right corner of the corresponding zInspector activity icon in your Timeline to confirm the upload.)
In the Tasks tab:
Optional: Enable Add zInspector Tasks to Rent Manager Issues to have inspection action items and tasks automatically added as Issues in Rent Manager.
Click Save before closing the Options window.
Step 6) Click Enable and follow the prompts until the sync begins. Once the sync is complete, your Rent Manager properties should be available for all users on your zInspector account, both on the website and mobile app.
zInspector automatically re-syncs with Rent Manager every few hours, but you can also force sync anytime on the Accounting Integration page.
Whenever you complete an inspection, a copy of the report will be sent to your email will upload to your Rent Manager account under Unit History.
